Increase boot speed
If it takes longer than 1 minute for your computer to load, too
many programs are loading at startup. Click on start, run and type msconfig and click on the startup tab.
Uncheck all of the unnecessary programs. If you don’t know the program don’t disable it, research it and then decide.
Clean up your windows registry
Windows Registry is a huge internal database of Windows' settings. When programs get installed or deleted they make changes
to the registry. Those settings sometimes don’t gel well together, making your pc slower. A nifty program called CCleaner
fixes registry problems and much more, it is recommended that you download it, it’s free.
Remove unnecessary programs
If you don’t need a program delete it, it takes up valuable space on your hard drive.
Use DISK DEFRAGMENTATION
When windows stores programs it creates folders to keep fragments of programs. This not only slows down your pc, but also
creates many useless folders. Disk Defragmentation gathers together the fragments of programs and puts them back in to one folder.
To defragment your hard drive click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools and then Disk Defragment, when the program has loaded, click Defragment.
Adding RAM
If your PC is having trouble operating multiple programs, or just loads files and programs slowly, you might need a RAM upgrade.

If you don’t want to spend money, download Ram Idle LE. It manages your systems ram and frees up ram when you need it. It is restricted by the amount of physical ram you have.
Lower screen resolution and color quality
Lowering resolution and color quality reduces strain on the video and the CPU. Picture quality will become worse but the computer will work smoother then before.
To get to Display settings, right click on desktop, properties, settings tab.
Check and Delete: Viruses, spyware, malware, spam
Your PC might be infected with viruses and stuff which are hindering your computer from being fast.
Run your computer through a series of test and scans. Scan your computer for spyware, viruses, spam, malware, and malicious software.
Removing these infections will increase computer speed substantially.
